Lutz's biography
This is how Lutz describes himself
I’m a German post-war production (1953). In my last years at school and at university we thought we could get rid of the last remnants of Nazism and – whilst we were at it – capitalism in general.
Then – after the revolution had been postponed for a while – I almost became a teacher (of German and English) but I found out that this might be an irresponsible act against the poor kids! So I decided to become an editor for teaching materials in EFL.
Years later I found myself in Brazil, where my wife worked as a teacher at a German school. As nobody wanted a German born editor for English there, I started with German as a Foreign Language, editing and teaching at the same time. After some years, when I had almost learned how my own language really works and written/edited a book for Portuguese as a foreign language as well, I returned to Germany with my wife and my son. I have worked as a freelance editor for German, English and Portuguese ever since. Writing material for German as a foreign language has become more and more important over the years.
In my free time I love to do the boring things book-people do: read, listen to music, watch films (and television), go to the theatre, eat out, do a bit of politics once in while, meet people and travel the world.
