Joining the Ely Sinfonia

I am lucky enough to be allowed to play my viola in the Ely Sinfonia which, as its name suggests, is based in the city of Ely, giving many of its concerts in the magnificent beauty of Ely cathedral known as 'the ship of the Fens' because it can be seen for miles around, rising above the plain!

Since 2008, Steve Bingham has been the musical director of the sinfonia, and brings to it his cheerful musicianship and programming skill. The Sinfonia's next concert, for example, not only includes Beethoven's 5th Symphony and Mozart's Requiem (two of the main standards of the classical repetoire), but also the world premiere of 'The Matyrdom of Latimer' by living composer  Adam Pounds.
